I'm interested in presenting at the Summit. When can I submit an application?

Where can I find the link to submit my application?
You can find the proposal submission link on our Session Application Page to submit an application. We cannot accept applications via email.

I have questions about the proposal application process. Can I get more information?
We're hosting two sessions on Zoom to help answer your questions. You do not need to pre-register, simply attend one of the sessions. The meetings will NOT be recorded. We are unable to answer questions via email.

I don't live in the Southeast region; can I still submit a proposal?
Yes, we will accept proposals from outside of the Southeast region, however preference will be given to those who reside and/or work in the following states: Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, and Indiana, along with the 13 states recognized as the Appalachian region.
Who will be reviewing my proposal application?
The Session Selection Committee consists of current practitioners in the field of creative placemaking. Committee members were selected based on their knowledge of the field and their ability to be objective as well as use critical thinking to score each proposal application.
How much is the honorarium?
The honorarium will be determined by the number of selected applicants. Each participant will receive an honorarium.
What is the discount for Selected Speakers?
Selected speakers will receive a 40% discount to attend the Summit, in addition to an honorarium. Speakers will be notified when selected and given a special registration link. All participants are required to register by February 9, 2026 - no exceptions without prior permission. There will not be registration available to attend only your session.

When will I be notified of a decision?
Applicants will be notified of final decision by January 5, 2026. The Summit may adjust this date depending on the number of applications received.
Why can’t I submit more than one proposal?
In order to allow for multiple perspectives, the Summit is only accepting one proposal per applicant this year. We suggest that you choose your strongest, and most relevant topic to present to have a better chance of acceptance.
