Ready to dive in and make places better?

 Come to our Strategy Labs!

Strategy Labs are designed to engage communities through charrettes on various scales throughout the communities. Tailored to the needs of the town or city, Strategy Labs employ crowdsourcing tactics and technical expertise to strategize, design, and curate ideas about how underused spaces can be transformed into community assets using creative placemaking techniques. Each lab produces a short and long-term plan that will be implemented in the given community. See below for the results of a project in Hackensack, NJ.

Looking to explore creative placemaking techniques in your town or city? NCCP offers Strategy Labs, which are one or two day events, aimed at capturing the assets of a community and employing short- and long-term strategies to overcome challenges. Each Strategy Lab brings together minds from all across the community and surrounding region to brainstorm ways to better your community.

Sites can range from regions, to blocks, to vacant lots. Each lab provides a finalized package that is meant to be used to help communicate the ideas developed from this crowd-sourcing activity. See the PDF download below for an example!
